"I am running for State Representative because I can no longer stand by and watch while the liberal legislators in Lansing pretend to solve problems. I served 22 years in the military as an officer and pilot, and I currently fly for American Airlines. Lansing is destroying our economy by pretending to solve problems. In every job I have had, if I just pretended to solve problems, many people would have lost their lives.
The recent budget fiasco in Lansing is a perfect case in point. First they passed a bill taxing services to "balance the budget." When everyone saw through that, they went back and raised taxes on small business - when our biggest problem is the cost of doing business in Michigan!

The whole budget mess was nothing more than pretending to solve problems. This happens with education, job creation, health care, and taking care of our natural resources, too.

I understand what it takes to be a leader; and I will not go along with the Lansing game of pretending to solve problems while kicking them down the road for someone else to deal with. We don't have time for pretending. Our economy is in a crisis. Michigan has the worst economy in the nation along with the highest unemployment rate.

In Lansing, I will fight for you and for real solutions to Michigan's problems. Please join me as we fight for Michigan's future. I will not pretend!"
